UPVC Replacement Door Handles
Over time, the handles on your doors will wear out and require replacement. It is essential to match the dimensions of the old handles when replacing them.
The top screw's location, the lever and the keyhole sizes are the three measurements that you need to check. Use the size guide to assist you.
Inline Lever/Lever
A lever/lever handle is a modern-day door handle designed to work with new or replacement doors. This kind of handle is available in many designs and finishes. A number of manufacturers make this handle including Avocet, ERA, Fullex, Hoppe, Mila, Millenco & Yale.
Fab and Fix Windsor Inline Sprung Lever Door Handle
The handles made of uPVC/Composite are made from robust materials, and are ideal for doors with multiple points that require a strong design. The handles are inline and they use the same spindle and screws to fix them. They are easily fitted on any uPVC/Composite door.
The handle can be placed and angled to suit any user. The handle has been tested for endurance up to 200,000 cycles. This helps ensure that the finish is of high quality and performance will last for a long time. The lever that is sprung can be reduced to accommodate more locks. This is useful for narrower doors where the cylinder is further back in the door. A lever that is shorter can be used on doors with latches that can be opened by the thumb inside.

Lever Pad
A Lever Pad door handle made of upvc operates differently to the lever type handles found on most doors. The handle can use a single spindle (inline) or independently from each side by using two inline or offset spindles (pad). They are usually employed on UPVC double-glazed doors and come in a variety of styles and finishes.
The handles are available in various finishes, including White chrome and Gold. The finish is in line with BS EN 1670:2007 Grade 5 and is also resistant to corrosion, which gives the handle a high degree of durability and performance for its intended use.
All of the UPVC lever pad styles for handles are supplied with screws and a spindle, allowing them to be put on a new or existing uPVC door. The backplate fixation centers of 211mm permit a larger handle, which is usually beneficial when replacing an old or faulty multi-point door lock mechanism. These handle levers are also sprung, solving the problem of handles that slide from their horizontal position when they are not being used.
When choosing a replacement UPVC handle and spindle, it is crucial to match the dimensions of the PZ on the multipoint lock as well as the uPVC door. This measurement is also known as the handle centre or 'cylinder centres and is an essential aspect of matching up the right handles.
After you have determined the correct PZ size it is important to ensure that the push and lever pads are designed to match the American with Disabilities Act compliant handles you require for your door. These are typically round or square, with an internal lever, and an external push pad.
The majority of UPVC lever pads we offer are sprung, which means that they will return to their horizontal position when they are not in use, rather than hanging out and possibly securing in the frame. This stops draughts and cold air from getting into a house. The majority of UPVC lever pad handles are available in left and right handed models, allowing them to be put on either side of the doors.
Euro Cylinder
Cylinder locks are typically found on uPVC doors, but they can be utilized on other types of door. Cylinder locks are operated by a key which unlocks the cylinder's casing. This reveals pins that can be aligned with the pins in the lock, and permit them to turn the camera that rotates, opening the door. Euro cylinders are available with up to six pins. External and internal doors require different levels of security.
The selection of a cylinder is vital. It is based on the type of use your doors and handles will receive. For example, external doors must be secured with a more secure cylinder whilst internal doors can be secured with an ordinary cylinder. Certain cylinders are equipped with additional features that can improve security, such as anti-drill or anti-bump properties.
A euro cylinder should be properly measured to ensure it is the right size for your door. The cylinder should be measured from the central fixing screw hole to each end of the cylinder including the thumb turn if you have one. It is best to do this with the lock in place, but in the event that this is not feasible, you can take it off and remove it to take measurements. It is essential to ensure that there is no cylindrical lock that extends beyond the handle or escutcheon. This can make it susceptible to lock snapping attacks.
Most modern cylinders are made with bump and anti-drill features built into their design. They are designed to decrease the chances of an attack by causing the cylinder to rotate in a different direction. This can help prevent attacks and ensure your doors are secure.
upvc door handle are designed to withstand snapping. This is a common occurrence on cylinders. A specially designed tool is used to break the break line of the lock, and then the front of the cylinder is snapped off. This is a faster and more convenient method of gaining access than a multipoint locking system. It also leaves less evidence of the burglary which can delay insurance claims.
Spring Cassette
The spring cassette is located within the base of your door handle's backplate, supplying a spring-loaded solution to return your multipoint lock handles to their normal position after usage. The handles were previously equipped with no spring and would droop when the locking mechanism was disconnected. This simple part is the best way to address this issue. It also helps prevent your door from becoming stuck in either the open or closed position since they are difficult to close manually.
These spring cassettes have been specifically made for use with multipoint locks sprung They will not work with non-sprung multipoint handles. You will require a hole specifically cut in your backplate to allow these to fit (please see image for technical diagram). They are a replacement for broken or missing cassettes within the backplates of door handles of many brands of uPVC doors. They feature a square cut-out that can accommodate an 8mm spindle, and are sold as a set.
These spring cassettes are an excellent value for money way to fix the problem of handles on your doors sliding. These spring cassettes are easy to install and can extend the life of your uPVC door.
